Owen Monaghan Profile

The Rider

"I've wanted to race the TT since I was a kid. Everything I do is pointed at that."

Owen Monaghan lives and breathes motorbikes. Based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, he works for Royal Enfield and spends whatever time is left either racing or in his workshop. He previously worked with students at the University of Nottingham building electric cars and motorbikes, and that same love of problem solving and teamwork still drives everything he does.

Away from work, Owen is either on a circuit or building bikes in his workshop. He makes custom parts for other people as much as his own bikes, because for him it's never just about the racing. Years on English circuits led him to road racing, and now the Manx Grand Prix this year and the 2027 TT are what everything is pointed at.

Isle of Man TT 2027

The goal. The mountain. One of the most dangerous and iconic motorsport events in the world.

Your support makes this possible.
Built From Scratch

The Workshop

For a long time, every bike Owen raced was built entirely by his own hands in his workshop at home. Stripping engines, setting up suspension, sorting problems late into the night before race weekends. That's still very much part of who he is. He's always hands-on, whether it's making custom parts or a full engine rebuild.

What's changed recently is the support around him. The sponsors who've come on board have made a real difference and brought some brilliant people into his life along the way.

"Being detail orientated and working on the bikes myself gives me a deeper understanding of what's going on. Small improvements add up fast."
